Private Sessions
Developing a relationship one-on-one between teacher and student is the foundation of our modern yoga lineage as passed down from Krishnamacharya. The basis of his teaching was “to teach what is appropriate for the individual”.
Private sessions are an invaluable way to develop and strengthen your own personal approach to your yoga practice and overall health. Whether you are laying the foundation for a new practice, deepening a current practice, recovering from an injury or working on a specific goal, one-on-one sessions can be an incredibly enriching and healing experience.
We will work together to develop tools that work with your life. I will also gladly work as part of your holistic team, which may include physician, surgeon, osteopath, physical therapist, naturopath, acupuncturist, body worker and more! My training has given me the tools to have important conversations with healthcare providers as an integral part of your healthcare system.
Most of my clients meet with me regularly - once or twice a week - as regularly scheduled sessions allow you to check-in with yourself. Everyone’s experience is different, where some clients start to feel better right a way and for others it takes some time. It is also important to remember our practice is not in the effort to arrive at a destination, but to bear witness to and experience the journey itself.
Solos: sessions are one-on-one via Zoom (in-person sessions on a case by case basis, but only after the initial intake session via Zoom). Prior to meeting, you will fill out an in-depth intake form where I will learn about your medical history and current goals to help steer our sessions. Our first session will be spent in conversation. Follow-up sessions are tailored to meet your needs and we will prioritize your primary goals. I also provide a homework handout of poses we decide on and key areas to work on between sessions. (Recommended 1-2x weekly)
Duets & Trios: these sessions are for small groups of 2-3 and always great fun! They are often done with close friends or family making it a nice way to connect and support each other. A brief intake form will be filled out prior to meeting and sessions will cover broader topics relevant to the group, while leaving room for individualized attention.
Our sessions will involve varying degrees of asana (physical postures), pranayama (breathing exercises), myofascial release and meditation.
