My story…

My personal journey with perinatal trauma after the birth of my daughter in 2021 shifted the course of my life in ways that have continued rippling outwards. I was shaken to my core for a very long time. I was literally and figuratively gripping and grasping with my body and mind while perched atop a very rocky and weak foundation. As a professional dancer my entire life, I was now a stranger inside my own skin and completely misaligned. I didn’t have the tools I needed to find myself again, so I sought outside help - talk therapy and pelvic floor physical therapy - until I was stronger in both mind and body. Once I gained a semblance of this new me, I delved into professional development courses to change and strengthen the direction of my life’s purpose. I became a certified Pregnancy and Postpartum Corrective Exercise Specialist (PCES) and completed an online birth trauma training program through Make Birth Better to help support parents impacted by perinatal trauma.

The way I felt during my postpartum journey was incredibly isolating and lonely. I wanted to simultaneously hide out and shout out from the rooftops about how no one really understood what was happening inside me (while also wondering how no one could see it?!). I am here to support and stand by the side of anyone else who is feeling that way. You are not alone. Through my personal experience and extensive studies, I have the tools to teach and support birthing parents how to prepare for and/or recover from pregnancy and birth (no matter how long ago that was). I am also trained in Women’s Health and offer IVF support helps increase success rates.

As a student and teacher of yoga for almost 20 years, I appreciate the resilience of the human body and its innate ability to move toward healing when given doses of nourishment. Nourishment comes in many forms - movement, breath, meditation, myofascial release and more. Learning tools that help support your body can be life changing. Helping to find more balance can promote a life lived more fully present and more joyfully.

I see you. I am here for you. I look forward to helping you heal.

love + light,
Susan
